The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global centre for teaching, learning and research, consistently ranked among the top 20 public universities in the world and recently recognized as North America’s most international university.
The challenge
One of the university’s most prominent and frequently visited sites, that for the Sauder School of Business, was running Sitecore and had serious stability issues. The site was built several years prior, and internal staff experienced in Sitecore were no longer present.
Solutions
IONICA brought in highly experienced Sitecore developers and site reliability engineers to assess the code-base and infrastructure environment. We deployed our highly comprehensive monitoring to provide complete visibility into the stability and inner workings of the Sauder School site. We then re-wrote several problematic areas of the site, tuned the servers, and added capacity.
Services provided

Benefit realisation
Within about one week of engaging IONICA, the stability issues were dramatically reduced and site performance improved substantially.
